What Is Fungus And Why Is It An Issue For My Lawn?
Fungus is a common issue many people can have with their lawns. With an unhealthy lawn and unfavorable weather conditions, fungus can easily inhabit a lawn. The appearance of fungus can differ, however, in most cases, the grass will appear discolored and thin. Many times people will mistake fungus as an area of the lawn that's been scalped while mowing or dying from a chemical burn, etc. By misidentifying this issue, many people do not treat the grass correctly and can even worsen the issue.
Poor drainage and warm/ wet weather are the main causes of fungus growth. The best way to prevent fungus from inhabiting the lawn is by maintaining a healthy lawn. However, if you are currently experiencing fungus growth in your lawn, the best way for a sure and fast recovery is by having the fungus treated for. What Are Grub And Why Are They An Issue?
Grubs are a form of larvae that come out of hibernation in the spring and eat at the root system of your grass. Rodents LOVE eating grub and may dig throughout the lawn to reach them. This is typically when people begin to notice this issue. Getting rid of grub is a little more tricky to treat than other common insects. When a large number of grubs are not treated they will transform into beetles in early summer. At this point, they will begin to come out from underground and increase the damage to your lawn at a faster rate than before. The damage from grub and beetles typically looks like a fungus or dying grass. A grub or beetle infestation should be taken care of as soon as possible to allow the grass to begin to recover and eliminate the risk of a larger infestation later on.
